Default Good news,/bad news etc. - 03-17-2005 , 06:21 PM

Good: The Gov't is only putting up fuel duty by the inflation rate and even
then not until September .
Small and medium sized cars are untouched but SUV, MPV, and 4x4 will be
clobbered with additional Road Tax.

Bad: The Tories are criticised for their alleged £35billion "cuts" which
Blair and Letwin say would mean no hospitals, nurses or doctors. Presumably
as this equates to the amount raised from the motorist, we pay for NHS in
full. Meantime oil is now $57 per barrel.

Worse: An ambulance is stopped by Plod whilst carrying a critically ill
patient and the crew made to endure a police lecture even though they had
put their bluies on.

Worst: If Blair had a heart attack and someone tried to stop his ambulance
'cos it had a defective brake light they would be shot by SPG as suspected
terrorists.

As far as I can see, a very neutral bugger up.

They should not have stopped, the life of the patient is paramount!

Except they didn't have their blues-and-twos on and the patient wasn't
critically ill.

The life of the patient wasn't in danger, falling to stop when a police car
indicated for them to do so may have put others in danger.

A less frothing-at-the-mouth version of the story is here ...

Suddenly a back problem becomes 'critically ill'.
Then I've been critical for years. ;-)

It sounds like you could have some off-spring with ADHD... Gordon'll
give you £50 a week each for those. :-)
