Default horn honkers - 10-30-2006 , 03:21 PM

Has anyone noticed that it is usually someone who looks like he has just
passed his test who honks at other drivers who have the cheek to enter
roundabouts when they are entering at 100mph on the right.

Fucking cheek.

Fastest moving car has priority, I'm sure that's in the Highway Code
somewhere. Probably.

I don't get it? Do you mean people that have to cheek to beep at people who
pull out on them?

not seen that1 lol, but give way to traffic on right, or on island
And - as a generalisation - give way to a vehicle that is is obviously
going to pull onto the island at a speed that could create a
"situation" if you decide to pull out in front of it.
It's basic common sense/road reading...

(Note to RDS; not that I'm saying that is what happened, but obviously
we only have one side of the picture).

Iridium (iridiumdan (AT) googlemail (DOT) com) gurgled happily, sounding much like
they were saying :

I think that's exactly what he means.

The gross exaggeration of "100mph" is mere bluster to try and cover being
caught not actually looking properly before pulling out.

I suspected at much "They were going too fast, but I still pulled out cos I
think I was in the right."

I learnt from my 5 weeks driving round europe to beep at the car in front if
it takes longer than 1 second after the light has gone green, obviously you
can move off when it goes amber (if all is clear of course).

Now to pedestrian crossings...http://www.highwaycode.gov.uk/18.htm
apparently we don't actually have to stop until the pedestrian sets a foot
on the crossing. I thought if it was a zebra you had to stop even if someone
was coming up to it, and a crossing with flashing lights (pelican, toucan,
puffin????) meant until the person stepped onto the crossing you could
proceed.

Like for example there are occasions when it is dangerous to stop at a
crossing like the councils who persist on putting crossings on a round about
exit round.

Note: I got one wrong in my theory 4.5yrs ago i now have 4yrs no claims :-D
although i can't drive in the snow for shit, spun twice without causing
damage to others just my own car as I was living in the country at the time
£220 for a broken wish bone.

A woman honked at me the other day; I was turning left out of a
T-junction and the road has a small sliproad to it. I pulled into the
sliproad and she thought I was coming out.
