Since its a bit hot how much fuel you use just sitting there not
moving with the AC on. Anyone like to guess?

0.3 gallons/hour according to the trip comupter.

Just out of interest, what's the usual consumption per hour?

I've just done a quick test (so bear in mind the cold engine) and it
reported 0.7 gallon/hour with the AC on and 0.6 gallon/hour with the AC
switched off.
Hmm. So 0.1 gallons per hour difference, so somewhere around 17%
difference?

Hitting the AC 'max' button made no difference.

Maybe that shunts the temperature output to full cold and turns air
recirculation on?

It does just that, it seems. No extra cooling; it's just cooling the already
cold cabin air again.
