Default How odd, but nice... - 11-30-2006 , 06:28 PM

A while back, a friend asked me to recommend a good first car for his
daughter. It just so happened that the guy across the road from me was
selling his Mk4 R reg Fiesta. Panther black, 1.25 Zetec engine, leccy
windows, alloys, really well looked after, 63k miles with FSH.

He got a company car so was punting it on for £1k (which IMO was really
cheap). Said friend bought the car for his daughter and she's ran about in
it for nearly a year. Not skipped a beat and the bodywork is still pristine.
It passed it's MOT, without even so much as an advisory, 4 months after she
bought it.

His wife came round tonight with 24 bottles of MGD to say thanks for the
advice! Apparently they were really anxious about getting her a car as they
wouldn't be able to pay for the costly repairs an older car may bring. 89k
and this Fiesta is still going strong. It's been used to go from Erskine to
Edinburgh and back most days a week, and has been treated to nothing bar an
oil change (by myself) every 6 thousand miles. I'll be getting it in
February to do the cambelt and fluids as I'm the only person they trust with
it!

It certainly does feel good to be appreciated

Dr Zoidberg (alexNOOOOOO!!!!!!!@drzoidberg.co.uk) gurgled happily, sounding
much like they were saying :

Quote:
R reg Fiesta
snip
bodywork is still pristine.

Sorry , but that's not possible.
Steve H says so ;0)
<chuckle>
I think the fact that it needs stating that an R-reg Fester still has
pristine bodywork kinda supports Steve's view... I mean, you wouldn't even
bother to mention it on most cars...

Can you exchange it for anything drinkable?

Not really, you'd think an 8 year old car would perhaps have dings,
scratches or bumps. This doesn't.

LOL. I'm a fan of MGD. Cheaper than Bud, doesn't give you a sore head, and
is wayyyyy better than that Carling / Carlsberg / Corona pish.

I've just realised what MGD is.

Have you ever considered drinking beer instead?

What's with this MGD bashing? Are people getting confused with the piss
water you get on tap and in a can?
