Unmarked cars generally only exist for one reason - to 'trap' your ordinary law-abiding citizen for exceeding the speed limit slightly. By definition, law abiding citizens don't exceed the speed limit at all. |
|
I don't have a problem with lots of marked cars on the road - but unmarked cars are a bit below the belt, to say the least. |

Besides, unmarked cars are used for other uses such as surveillance work. |

I've recently been booked for 37mph in a 30mph limit. This was a dual carriageway road, and I was being _very_ careful due to the number of traffic-light cameras / Truvelo cameras on it - then I was booked by a local authroity 'safety van' - the kind that look just like a council maintenance van. I'm not sure what the problem is. 37mph in a 30 limit is more than 20% |

Given that it's bloody hard to keep excatly to, or under, the limit, at least you get a fair warning with marked cars. |
