Nick Finnigan (nix (AT) genie (DOT) co.uk) gurgled happily, sounding much like they
were saying :

Quote:
Yea but he was talking for a couple of days, not weeks or months. I've
brought Land Rovers direct from the MoD with no tax and no number
plates and driven them around for a 3 or 4 days before taking them to
the local VRO.

If they were not UK registered, there was no need for tax.
True, but...

Quote:
(I presume no plates and a visit to the VRO means not registered).
It does indeed... He said the Landies were coming off MoD plates.

There's just that small matter of a "but..." - the law requires all
vehicles being used on UK roads to be registered with DVLA and carry plates
bearing the registration numbers, as well as having insurance/MOT/VED in
place, except in certain circumstances - such as being correctly registered
and legal in a foreign country for a short period, or being taken to a VRO
for an appointment to be UK registered...

So trying to say "Well, it ain't registered" to get off the (small fine, no
points) tax tug doesn't really make a lot of sense, because you'd be in far
deeper shit...

And I've bought a car at the weekend, driven it to work on the Monday, and
been nicked for no tax before the cover note arrived...

Well you didn't have MoD paper work, it makes a difference
You do know that it is *very* bad to use an email address that doesn't
belong to you in the "From:" line of a post, don't you?

He's a lying piece of shit at best; at worst, a self-deluded military
fantasist who sits at home wanking over pictures of apache helicopters.

If you believe it or not, it happened. There was no need to show
plates or a tax disc, as it was not registered, MoD vehicle are not
registered with the DVLA, they issue thier own plates. I would have
thought a know it all like you would have known that. It had an MoT
and odd one, becuase it had the VIN number in place of the reg number
and same with the insurance cover note, and then I had a copy of the
MoD release papers.

I suppose a genius like you, would have gone to the unecessary trouble
of trailering it from the MoD disposals site to the local VRO, then
trailering it from thier to Halfords to get some plates made up.

Indeed they are. For MOD business. If being used OTHER than by the MOD,
they need to be DVLA registered...

No, I did not say that nor did I say that you had to own the domain that
you use. You do however have to have the permission of the domain owner to
use a particular domain name. And you haven't got that.

OTOH you're such a thick cunt that no doubt you'll now try to be a barrack
room lawyer.
