According to Autodata, it's a 7.9 hour job, and £136+vat for a clutch kit from GSF. So, depends where you live really, around here, £30/£40 an hour inc VAT - 8 hours at 40 would be £320, plus £150 for the clutch kit inc vat. So budget up to £500 I guess. Seems a lot... -- Dan Formerly DanTXD |

Hi, Many thanks for your replies. I live in Cambridgeshire. hmm so ~£500 yes, it does seem pretty much however I was expecting even more! I am a little surprised that the kit costs £150 I was expecting to pay more for it then for the labour. Is the price for a new one of used one? |

What's the mileage on the car? How do you know the clutch is at "end of life"? |

The mileage is 97k miles. |
|
The car has the engine control unit changed; the measured torque and bhp are 335 and 135 respectively (previously measured: 275 and 110). Perhaps this extra torque causes it? |
|
However I think I read/heard somewhere that clutches usually need replacing at aprox 100k miles. |

It's a relatively high mileage for a three year old car. Si |
