They never thought anyone would be daft enough to buy one, so it has to be
specially made!

I guess you specialise in either narrow minded opinions, have never tried
one, nor its peers?

It's because of demand.

Previous delays of Ford models have been caused by the demand for the
2-litre diesel. 4 months is surprisingly about right for 'factory orders'
of certain models, especially the S-Max and Mondeo Estate...

Is it auto by any chance?

Justin.

no , six speed manual.
in this day and age, how can they get it so wrong?
they are still advertising it, and there is no mention whatever on the
website about the 4months + delay if you order one....

For the Titanium X? - have you seen the price of it, ffs.

I have the Titanium X on my car list, but you'd have to be completely
insane to order one when you can have an A4 2.0TDI SE.

Don't see that many of them around, in any spec. either.

FFS...because if they advertised there was a 4 month delay, people
would go buy something else.

Post corrected. I can think of few worse cess pits to drive than the
current A4.

Yeah you do. Plenty. As it happens I see a lot of higher specification
machines too.

In the company car scheme of things, picking the Mondeo says a lot more
about many other machines. Can you guess what cars these comments refer to?

Trying to be different; snide remark about being a Mondeo.
Trying an alternative brand; cheese eating surrender monkey machine.
Trying to be different; snide remark about being a Vauxhall.
Didn't want a 3-Series; couldn't afford a 3-Series.
Couldn't afford a 5-Series; couldn't afford a 5-Series.
Wanted the A4; snide remark about being a long wheelbase Golf.

Then there's the Mondeo...

*****

Where there's demand, there's a waiting list - that hasn't changed since
prehistoric times.

Did you check before ordering it? Have you checked with your fleet manager
or his better-able assistant? Have you checked with the leasing company
(assuming you're leasing it)? Have you checked with a Ford dealer?

Three of the above are far more reliable than our speculation.
