Default Now *that* is £500-worth... - 05-12-2007 , 03:19 PM

Just missed it, unfortunately.

XM Turbo petrol auto, top spec.
97/R, 71k miles, one owner from near new. MOT & tax until Sept.

Downside? One front wing been dinged and repaired badly (got one in the
lockup, a ton or so to spray), and one rear electric window AWOL.

Hiho.

Seems like the going price, rather than being a bargain.

much like they were saying :

If you know of another late s2 at that kind of money, my email works.

I know, but fortunately not through experience...

Mine had a new box at 9k from new, and is now closing on 145k, no problem.
All you need to do is take the basic precaution of changing the ATF with
the engine oil every 9k - the cooling's a bit borderline, so the fluid
cooks. and the drain plug doesn't do a full change - so by the time the
boxes tend to die at 120k or so, they're still largely on the original
fluid.

It's a bog standard ZF 4HP18, so there's nothing inherently fragile about
the box.
