When Mercedes launched it they called it a panormic ROOF rather than
windscreen.
It is not without problems though as anyone with an older smart car with a
glass roof will tell you.
You need to have some sort of sunshade as well.

What are they? I assume you mean something other than the obvious stuff like
the car being roasting hot in summer, and things coming through rather
easily if you roll it.

Panoramic means: wide unobstructed view in all directions

It might be best to look "in" a dictionary. I am not sure looking "up" one
would do any good. Which way would you hold it and what would you be
looking for!
Panoramic windscreens are more fun for the passengers in the back as the
driver tends to be looking straight ahead.

In the Vauxhall Astra, presumably.
It's not panoramic, it's wrap-round into the roof.
I bet it's extremely expensive to replace one of those if it gets broken.
Regards Mike.

What are they?
The Smart had problems with the roof shattering for no apparent reason at
random intervals.
I think they used the Smart as a testbed for the glass roofs.
However, the thought of the stresses that must be on a folding glass roof on
an SL does make me wonder how reliable it will be in the long term.

Yep, panormic means wide, left right, not up down.
