Remember a traffic warden issuing a ticket for a tax disc in the top
centre- behind the mirror.
How stupid. Behind the mirror is the only place you can put it where it
won't impede visibility. Which is where mine is.

I used to do exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason. It's
apparently against the law, though, for some reason to do with police / traffic
wardens walking along the pavement and seeing the tax disc in the corner of the
windscreen next to the kerb.

I dunno where that law is defined, though, and maybe the traffic warden who
told me this was making it up.

AOL.

A traffic plod walking about at the Dartford Tunnel toll booths once
tapped on my passenger window (after I'd paid the toll, and the
barrier had raised, and told me in a very snooty, patronising way that
it was "illegal" to have the disc behind the mirror and I had to move
it right there and then.

I laughed, said "fuck off", and drove away.

Once, years ago, a plod motorbike shot past in Brighton and the tax disc
fell
off his front fork. I picked it up and took it to the local cop-shop. Got no
thanks at all!
Even a "crim" would have said "ta, mate."
Bollox!
