Mine (525 on a J too) suffered terribly from stone chipping. And of course
you then look at others and it seemed common. I had the front end
resprayed and that cured it - I'd guess the modern paint was better.

I assume it's a 24 valve twin cam if on a J plate? If so it should be
pretty good. Mine was an auto but would regularly do in the upper 30s on a
run. Needs to be revved to make it go, though.
