But given how inexpensive wired hands free kits are, or for that
matter wireless Bluetooth headsets, surely it's worth getting one of
these?

hmmm wired is about 200 quid isn't it? I would love a handsfree - I love
being able to talk freely like that. I've got the Panasonic camera phone
now
which doesn't have Bluetooth. I wish I'd've kept the Ericsson t68 now...
If you had a Bluetooth handset, Tim Kemp knows of a place that do natty
Bluetooth installs for well under that price.

Although the wired ones are not so effective, they do the job . . .

Imagine if there was a similar hate-mob for people who overran
the speed limit occasionally? I don't yap on the phone all the time,
it's just occasionally, and I get a sense of anger when I see these
yuppies in their SLK's driving with their Elbow with the phone to
their ear and head twisted to one side.. it's like they're trying to
actually LOOK COOL by being on the phone... and that's hardly a good
way to be driving a car.

I appreciate where you're coming from, and I'd only deliberately annoy
somebody if I was in a grumpy mood (less and less these days,
thankfully), too. But unfortunately, doing it infrequently but
getting caught when you do it, it just as bad ("your honour") if you
do it all the time and you're not caught.

yep... you're right. I might see if I can get the T68 back off my mate and
see if it's stopped cutting out during calls, then I can get a funky
wireless handsfree.
I'm borrowing one of Tim's Bluetooth headsets, and the quality of it is
excellent, plus it's kinda strange having the telephone in somebody else's
Ka on charge, and you get a call on it when you're in the Ka behind (konvoy
of four Kas during JOGLE . . .).

If you tried that with me you'd be dead. You'd not have a car left to
have a bumper fitted to not that you'd care because you'd not be
breathing anyway.

I mean.. if I do happen to be on the phone, i'll be like.. 'hang on a
minute.. need to pull out / figure out where I'm going' and drop the phone
for a min.
But you didn't did you? Get a hands free kit. THe cheapest type are
under a tenner.

The one that plugs into the bottom of the phone with an earpiece on
isn't £200.

Maybe. We had a HGV demonstrate what it's braking abilities were like on
the motorway during JOGLE, it stopped pretty well, too.

And, no, we hadn't pulled in front of it because he'd annoyed us!

Didn't what? Drop the phone? I sure did when I was flicking in and out of
reverse 3 or 4 times to get out of his little 'stronghold'.

ahhh.. is Conor a HGV driver? I'm assuming then that C.B radios will also be
illegalised along with handheld mobiles? Can't be fumbling for that PTT
button y'know. Better get himself some kind of voice actuated headset...
