Odds are you'd have hit someone up the rear prior to that.

You should be a polititian.
No, I could never be sick, twisted, selfish or dishonest enough to be a

Yeah, sorry - it *was* a bit of an insult ;o)

hello,

I can't see why talking on a phone is so bad, there are far worse
distractions like looking around, talking to people in the car, screeming
and fighting children, also singing along to the radio etc.
Has anyone invented a hands-free cigarette yet?

Observation?

Indeed, if Charlie wants me to agree to something, she just asks me whilst
we're driving, because as soon as I need to concentrate on the driving bit,
I just go, "uh-huh" a lot.

The driver is there for just that. Driving. I believe it's in Germany
where if the driver is caught lighting a fag, or changing a CD, or whatever,
he or she can be prosecuted for it. In California, you can do what you like
behind the wheel of a car, it's only an issue if you cause an accident doing
it.

Sympathy? I was possibly expecting some kind of 'jesus what a lunatic,
that's crazy' or something.
I thought his actions were barmy and though others might too.

You shouldn't be on the phone.

Sorry, I'm missing the point of your post (you know, sort of like you
missed the other driver's point)... what do you want, a round of
applause or something for standing up for your 'right' to dangerously
use a phone ?

:/
No, dick, I don't want a round of applause. You have indeed missed the point
of my post, by quite some distance it would seem. The actions of this person
were totally bizzare and outrageous.

Agreed - and what he did was almost certainly worse than what you did.

But your actions were potentially dangerous and within a few months would
have been specifically illegal.

If you behave in a dangerous and soon-to-be-illegal manner on the road you
run the risk of provoking extreme reactions from others.

Is this a first - me agreeing with "Lordy"?

hands free on its way then. Still, any twats who decide to try to force
their morals on me in an interferring way like this will be met with utter
disagreement.

Fuck me.. y'know... I see these chaps in their Impreza WRX's with exhausts
as wide as graham nortons arse speeding down the A556.. Do I deliberately
pull out in front of them forcing them down to my speed? No.

I'm in the outside lane on the Motorway doing 90mph... someone comes flying
up behind me at probably 110... Do I force them to slow to my speed, because
they're doing something wrong? Err.. no, I move back into a lane so there's
no obstructions for anyone and let them get on with it.

It's not about who's more in the wrong.. I appreciate that I was in the
wrong but wasn't really expecting to have you lot reminding me of that. I
was just err.. bemused?? I still am.. kind of taken aback by the actions of
Mr Fabia.

I know.. I'll either have a hands free kit soon or have more points and a
fine and then a handsfree kit. Hopefully the first.

the level of 'dangerous' at a red light is debatable, but I agree it is
accepted that in some cases, (some being more than none, and this being too
many) talking on a mobile phone makes you a worse driver. I still don't
think the extreme reaction was justified.

You know, I just thought - some of the responses I've had here paint quite a
picture.

here comes the stereotyping (which I don't do) again, in the form of a
question.

Did many of you Tell the Teacher at School when people broke the rules?
