hello, I can't see why talking on a phone is so bad, there are far worse distractions like looking around, talking to people in the car, screeming and fighting children, also singing along to the radio etc. |

I'm amazed that you've posted this admission to a newsgroup in the expectation of *any* sympathy. |

Sorry, I'm missing the point of your post (you know, sort of like you missed the other driver's point)... what do you want, a round of applause or something for standing up for your 'right' to dangerously use a phone ? :/ |

No, dick, I don't want a round of applause. You have indeed missed the point of my post, by quite some distance it would seem. The actions of this person were totally bizzare and outrageous. |

And let's not forget that it aint December yet - using a mobile isn't quite illegal, it's just about driving with due care at the moment. I believe it's illegal from August, fine only, points kick in from December. |

Agreed - and what he did was almost certainly worse than what you did. |

But your actions were potentially dangerous and within a few months would have been specifically illegal. |
|
If you behave in a dangerous and soon-to-be-illegal manner on the road you run the risk of provoking extreme reactions from others. |
|
Is this a first - me agreeing with "Lordy"? |
