Current BMW M5 if you want a manual car, lots of power, speed, comfy
cruising, plenty of space. Goes like stink but corneres like it's on rails,
power oversteer on demand, generally neutral though.

Alternatively E class (saloon), CL (coupe) or SL (folding hardtop) in 55 AMG
form would suit you very well, all the toys, smart handling, smart
suspension, voice control and automatic (which I'll assume your Jaguar is)
and nothing comes close for a big auto cruisemobile. They handle tidily as
well, only downer is how they mask their speed, I've briedly driven the CL
and discovered three figures when I expected two...

New XJ (Jaguar) is another interesting option though - I guess you'll have
to go and test the options! But my money (if no object) on a big, fast,
comfortable, chuckable car would be on an M5 or a CL55AMG

Hello Paul,

This message is onyl posted to one newsgroup !

Go for a Holden HSV, they are fairly big but have a 5.7litre V8 and you can
get them in the UK. One of them was tested in a car magazine like Redline
or Max Power and looked impressive.

Sorry if you've heard this request before. I have tried to find a
suitable site that would enable me to just enter my requirements
on-line and it would come up with list of likely candidates for my
ideal car, but such was not to be.
Anyway,

I'm looking to replace my existing car (a big, heavy Jag) with
something a bit more fun to drive! Jags are all very well but they
don't go around corners any sense and I'm fed up with having the arse
slide out all the time.
I'm looking for the following qualities:

Not bothered about fuel economy.
Not bothered about price.
Not bothered about super, super-fast performace and 0-60 times.
Not bothered about age of model
Not bothered about prestige issues or avoiding any particular marque.
No brand loyalty involved to any other make or nationality of car

OTOH:

Am concerned with still having a smooth ride, notwithstanding the

Am concerned with *reliablitity* and that if a few service interval

deciding factor.
