I was caught doing just over the speed limit at 1:30am last night on a dual
carriageway. But I'm positive I was not speeding! Anyway I was told this was
an endorseable offence as I could have been a danger to wildlife

It would have been very fishy if there had been.

I was given a fixed penalty fine of £60. I

took the ticket to the Police station in along with all my documents and
they were uncertain if I had to produce my counterpart licence. I told them
I was going to court to contest the offence
Waste of time unless you can prove a fault in the camera or whatever system
caught you.

and they said ok that's fine

then and just logged what details I had. My questions are:

Were they meant to take my counterpart licence?

What do I do now?

Lucky - if you'd hit an orang-utang, you could have been facing
manslaughter.

Well, if he hit an *orang utan*, he's probably not driving on UK roads
anywhere...probably somewhere in the region of S.E. Asia
