I guess he means if to see whether they let the turbo cool down before
switching the engine off. IIRC you get knackered bearings.
Buying privately gives you something of an edge in this respect - if
the person you are buying it from has owned it a while you an tell far
more about the condition of the car by observing the owner and how
they drive and treat the car *and* the state of their
house/garden/demeanor. One car of many on a forecourt could have a lot
hidden by a thorough valet.
