How easy is it to remove a Nokia car kit? I need to remove one on Monday evening from a 406 estate. It uses the the velcro mic and the external speaker - so no connection to the cars stereo - and also a tax-disc aerial. Is it just a case of disconnect the aerial, mic and speaker and pull the cables through, then disconnect the power feed? All help will be gratefully appreciated. I've installed a couple of genuine Nokia kits (a CARK-91, and I forget |

David, Many thanks. The car is going back on Tuesdy hence the need to remove on Monday. I would be looking to install it to a pre wired Zafira and understand that I can get a new cable that will plug into the loom on the Zafira, and presumably into the control box? I'm not sure how Vauxhall do it. If you can get a wiring harness (I |

I'm not sure how Vauxhall do it. If you can get a wiring harness (I know Renault won't sell you one without the full car kit) you'll probably find that it provides direct connections for the mic, speaker and antenna. Unless Vauxhall do a specific Nokia cable, you'll be expected to mate individual power, ground and stereo mute wires with the wires on the multi-plug for the Nokia module. Don't be surprised if the colour coding is different between the Nokia and Vauxhall wiring. I'd also recommend deviating from the 'official' Nokia wiring while you have the chance. The Nokia kits usually have two power inputs - one for permanent live and the other for ignition live, but if you wire them up as you're supposed to, your phone will switch off about 30 seconds after you stop the engine. If you don't want it to do that, just wire them both to permanent live. -- David Thornber |

What about the connections?Aren't the connections separate from the cradle. |
