Default Rover 220 coupe conversion - 02-04-2007 , 04:59 PM

Hello To everyone,
In a mad fit of bravado I decided to upgrade my 220 coupe from
standard to a turbo. My first step has been to get hold of a tight and
tidy 820 turbo engine and now the fun begins. Has anybody out there
undertaken this conversion before if so please can you give me any
tips or advice on this job. I know my way round the engine bay quite
well but would welcome any advice on the subject that might save me
raw knuckles embaressing mishaps or the need to invent new swear
words. thanks roverdosed of fair Bristol !!!

Personally I think mechanics will be the least of your problems. Hope
you grabbed the wiring loom and ECUs.

IMHO you'd have been better off turbocharging the existing engine with a
kit or DIY rather than getting a new engine.

Or, if you really must, buying a Rover 220 Turbo. There are three going
on Ebay at the moment, for peanuts.

A decompression plate should do the trick.
