I want to get a spare remote fob for my 1997 Rover 416 and I've read
some contradictions and wondered if anyone could tell me what the
truth is.

Is there any benefit buying a cheap 2 button fob on Ebay, is there
anyway it can be re-used.

Will I have to go to a Rover dealer, or can I use a third party? if so
what information do I need to give, and how much should I have to pay.

Thanks to anyone who can spare the time to let me know what the real
deal is.
