Default VW Golf - 01-26-2007 , 01:03 PM

Does anyone know how to adjust the side mirrors on a new Golf?
I have a hired one and they didn't put a manual in and they are not there
now!

TIA

Depends on the model.

Is there a knob labelled 'L - R' on the driver's door arm-rest?

Yes there is
As I remember, in the centre, that's for heating the mirrors. In the "R"
you can adjust the right hand mirror using the knob. In the "L," it adjusts
the left mirror.

Actually , you are wrong.

L adjusts the left mirror only , R adjusts both, [1] the idea being that
once they are set correctly a different driver can adjust the pair
together more easily

Yes I remember the Polo I hired had this feature. It works in theory, but I
usually had to go back and adjust the left mirror anyway...

I meant there was no-one in the office of the hire firm when I rang at 19.00
hrs

Maybe you knew that. If so, good joke.
