I am shortly to get an allowance to fund a vehicle - anyone know of any websites that give advice on maximising the benefits from this? Anyone here have any experience of doing it this way and the pitfalls? Cheers in advance Tricky |

To run a car over three years thats 125000 miles plus a decent amount of private mileage - say 150000 miles in total. Is the consensus that I need £300 per month to lease the vehicle |

I am seeing the MD next week and I want to have a good idea of what sort of allowance I should be asking for. Ideally I want to get a new car but diesel and somewhere in the 18K to 20K price bracket. If diesel with a maximum of 800 miles per week then a vehicle with an mpg of say, conservatively, 45 means 18 gallons per week = £18.00 - so as a mininum I am figuring £100 for fuel per month. Does that sound right to you? |

Does that sound right to you? 1. Get the smallest car you can live with - size normally equals running costs and capex. 2. Get it as desirably specced as possible, with 100-150k miles on it'll need to stand out among similar vehicles. Things like automatic gearbox etc might help you sell it end of term. 3. Buy 3-9 mth old, try not to pay the sticker price. 4. Get warranty - manufacturers extended scheme normally dearest and best. 5. Service it cheaply - either strike a deal with a dealer or if extended warranty allows service it outside of the main dealer network. 6. Have an exit plan - what if the job goes away and you've still got the car? |

Cheers Tim I want a 2.2 diesel Civic - suits me on all levels - and am seeing the corporate specialist at my dealership today. A nice choice of car. I was down to one of them or another octavia but the Honda lost out in the end |
