When a driver is driving how or do they go to the bathroom. On person says a catheter, another says they are so dehydrated that they cant go another says they just go and yet another says they hold it. So does anyone know the fact to any of this? From the latest issue of Speedway Illustrated magazine (August 2003), page 47: Q. Some of the NASCAR races are so long, what do the drivers do if they have to go to the bathroom? A. They pee in their pants. They really do. There is no pit stop for the port-a-john. One of the most famous Tony Stewart victory lane photos shows him with a very obvious wet uniform. What really scares me is that they never seem to take long enough to change into their street clothes to manage a shower. They need to rush off to get in their private helicopters/planes so they can |

Drivers can loose 5 to 10 pounds of water weight during a race (bear in mind that a gallon of water is about 8 lbs), so it's rarely a problem that they have an excess of water. Catheter is definately not a correct answer. Why is it that just the thought of hitting a wall at speed with a catheter attached gives me a major case of the heebie-jeebies? |

My own thoughts: Driving 500 miles w/out going to the bathroom may sound impossible to most of us. However, if we were put in that situation every week like Nascar drivers are, I suspect our bodies would adjust. |
