I'd hazard a guess that you're in, or right close to, what I call
my hometown(*) (even tho I haven't lived there for a long time, and
my parents aren't there any longer either).

We're choking on smoke too - seems like the wind's blowing the
wrong way right now.

rather than try to figger out what my score "might" be, I will just wait in
the pits for a debris caution and begin anew.

BTW, just out of curiosity, where does everyone live? I am in MO.

I have been hearing that your wildfires were bad this year. I hope it
doesn't get too close to you.

Remember the July Daytona race a few years ago? Cancelled because of
the Florida wildfires. The raceway donated all the food they had
stocked for the race to the firefighters.

We're a few (15) miles east of the fires at home. Although we travel
through the smoke to and from work. Tonight the smoke is heavy here,
even the dog smells like smoke LOL.
These fires are approaching the same intensity as 1998 or 1999(?), the
year of the Daytona 400 "fire out", just in less populated areas right
now. Its closing in on a few big lakes with homes dotting the
shores...Not good.

Not good is exactly right.

I live 20 mile north of Daytona and the big fire to the south of us
(just north of the speedway and west of there) has burned over 6000
acres, has been going on for over a week now, and today it was so bad
I couldn't even take my golf cart ride to check on my animal friends,
pick up the mail, etc. Yeah, I smoke cigars, but ya don't inhale them
suckers and you could not breath at all outside this afternoon without
taking in a lung full of wood/grass smoke. Not very healthy.

And Andrea isn't contributing enough rain to make a tinker's dam of
difference.

Blue Skies,
Jack

BTW, I live in Union, MO

I used to pickup at the two Esselte warehouse's off of Independence every
week & take it back to Indiana.
Wow! That's almost my back yard!

The latest weather I heard said Andrea is unlikely to contribute
anything but wind to Florida. She is just too far north.

I hope you get through this ok.
