Five guys are starting at the back after Jr.'s right rear tire
grenaded. I watched the video on NASCAR.com and it wasn't pretty.
Anything could happen tomorrow, so let's go racing.


Winner: Juan Pablo Montoya will get his first oval win.

1. Mikey is good on the restrictor tracks. He will draft his way to
a top 10 finish.

2. Kenny Wallace qualed the 00 car in 14th. He will also finish in
the top 15.

3. Bobby Labonte didn't qual well, but he did practice well. He will
finish with a top 15.

4. Terry Labonte qualed the #45 nine places ahead of brother Bobby,
but he won't finish that well. Terry will finish outside the top 30.

5. With only one chaser qualifying in the top 12 (Cuzin Carl in
12th), my standard chase prediction actually has a chance of being
right this week. No more than 5 chasers in the top 12.

Not to spoil your plans here, but in his own car Waltrip has zero
T10 finishes at a plate track. His average at Dega looks to be
about 23rd, his average at Daytona around 29th.

Unfortunately, tire issues will again dominate the post race shows
this week. Gotta feel sorry for David Gilliland. Lost two cars this
weekend to other people's blown tires.
+0 He had to car to get it done and was up front doing it until he
got caught in the big one. And he almost got through that one. got
put in the wall by a late wrecker.

+0 Mikey was in the front working the draft, even after he caught an
exploding Goodyear across the front end. Then he got clipped in the
big one.

+1 Finished 12th. Good run Kenny.

+1 Another point!! 6th place finish and it wasn't a fluke. He ran
in the front half of the pack most of the day.

+0 Good run for Terry. Finished 17th. Would have been the last car
on the lead lap, except that is where NASCAR decided to put Regan.

+1 Wow!! a third point. I'd just about forgotten what one of those
looks like. Four Chasers in the top 12. Add Kyle Busch in 15th and
there were only 5 on the lead lap.
