Default 1sts At Texas - 04-16-2007 , 10:04 AM

1sts At Texas
Jeff Burton is the 1st repeat winner at Texas in 13 races,
however there still are 12 different winners inarow,
since the 1st winner at TX'97 was JB getting his 1st Cup win.

MKenseth got the 1st non-Chevy Runner-Up Finish of '07.
JMcMurray got his 1st Top 5 of '07.
David Stremme got his 1st Top 10 in a career of 45 starts.

Points After 7.TX:
9th on back are 2 full races behind the leader!
Max Gain / Loss is now 161 points from winner to 43rd place.
Since Jeff Gordon can't win a race any longer,
maybe he will be the 1st Champ without a win?

It's not a 'prediction' thing, but Jayski's had a 'how far back was a Chaser'
thing the past couple races...after Tejas:

After 7 races in 2004-2006 worst spot a future chaser was? with #9-Kasey Kahne,
33rd in drivers championships points after 7 races, the question has been, after 7
races in the three previous Chase's, what was the worst spot a future Chaser [in
that season] was in after that 7th race? In 2006 after the 7th race, #31-Jeff
Burton was 16th in drivers points, in 2005 it was #17-Matt Kenseth who was 21st
after 7 races and in the first year of the Chase, 2004, #6-Mark Martin was 16th.
The three drivers who won the last three Nextel Cup Championships were no deeper
then 11th, that being #20-Tony Stewart, in 2006 #48-Jimmie Johnson was 1st and in
2004, #97-[now in the #2]-Kurt Busch was 1st after 7 races.(4-15-2007)

Thanx fer askin armpit
& thanx for tellin Tom.
Tuesday will be soon enuf to post my predictions
based on only 7 races. Unfortunately, NA$CAr
rule changes affect any kind of trends / history,
therefore, my analysis becomes nothing more than
speculation, just like N wants it. ;(
