Definately makes sense to me. Next time he should just plow into Jimmie

Who is Jimmie Gordon ass ?

Carl put himself in that position and it resulted in a very dangerous and
illegal
move. Blame Carl or his spotter but it's not Nascar's fault that he wasn't
prepared
for the cars pitting in front.
No way. Edwards was trapped behind pitting cars, and had nowhere else to go.
His only other move, aside from passing on the left, was rear-ending the car
in front of him, or side-punting the car to his outside.

You can't, or shouldn't I should say, penalize a guy for avoiding a wreck.

And by the way, EVERYONE on the track was in a very dangerous position
yesterday, just by being there. And Carl's move was only illegal to the ever
watchful and 100% correct NASCAR (ROFL!). I bet the guys that he DIDN'T hit
appreciated the action he took even if NASCAR didn't. There's simply no
other way to say it today, it was yet another blown call by NASCAR. Even
"their call" was wrong on face value, as he did not advance his position by
going below the yellow line. Unless of course, NASCAR meant that not
wrecking and/or ending up in a wad of crumpled cars as an advancement of
position.

Edward's only mistake was that he wasn't Joonyer.

Don't think it was much about his pass, he could have pleaded his case, but
when he says he ain't going to answer the penalty over the radio NASCAR had
to make an example out of him. Didn't he pull a "avoid the wreck"-and go
flying down pit road at 170 mph last year, never braking at all? He was
penalized for that also!

Edwards still has half of his rookie stripe

Carl has tons of raw talent, but yes, he is still wet behind the ears.

Give him a couple years to mature, and if he has the same caliber equipment
that he has now, he'll be quite a force. He's going to win a lot of races.

I agree that they responded to his statement on the air, but the call was
BS. Not to justify his comment, but I guess I do understand the frustration
over hearing the call. He has laps before he has to answer the black flag,
and my bet is his crew chief would have calmed his initial reaction within
the window and he'd have come in. That kind of an initial reaction is not
uncommon at all. This whole notion of "having to make an example" is a big
part of the problem today. Create stupid rules, make even stupider calls
using those rules, and then call a driver to the trailer for being
frustrated in the height of racing emotion. Now that's a study in
stupidity.

Driving down pit road to avoid a wreck is allowable under the rules. I
don't recall specifics of this incident you refer to last year - do you have
any better recollection of what happened?

As is to be expected. It does take a while for that stuff to wear off. I
think too many people wanted to promote him to veteran status after a good
first year. He's not the first driver that folks wanted to proclaim as a
great, too early. Sure - he still has some learning to do.
