This serves no purpose at all. If they need to get the track ready then
keep the trucks on it until it's time for the cars to run, or run the laps
with the cars under caution. Starting a race under caution and clicking off
race laps under yellow is completely pointless.

The weather radar clearly showed that rain was about to start. It doesn't
look like it will be letting up any time soon either. Doesn't NASCAR have
an internet connection? I guess JG gets points for "leading" those laps.

Gee, where are all the commercials now? Usually they barely seem to have
enough time to run them all. I mean hell they hardly show two cars cross
the finish line and they cut away to more of the same stupid ads. I really
felt ripped off in that I didn't get to see JG's car get pelted last week.
Some "fair and balanced" FOX report that was.

Now that I got that off my chest, nice to meet you all. :-)

Agreed. 12 Laps of **NO** racing gone now, counted as part of the
race. Yet another example of Nascar's boneheaded decision making and
the fans getting screwed.

Agreed

If they can not get the race in tonight and have to start tomorrow do
they start with lap 11? I can't remember what past history says has
been done
They anounced that the lap count would be reset to 0 since they never got to
a full green tonight.

Yep unless you count two possiblities. One is they think they might
get it in tonight and clicking laps off is going to make Fox run over
less than doing what is right by the race fans that paid at the track.

Possibility number 2. Jeff is on pole. Starting the race under
yellow means he gets the 5 bonus points for leading a lap and the
yellow laps count for the bonus points toward leading the most laps.
Those laps could be the difference in getting those points and not.

Those laps should mean nothing until a green flag drops. Had a green
fallen, they likely would have carried over till the next day and
Jeffy got the points without earning them. Since the green didn't
fly, only a green yellow Nascar may reset the counter and its all
moot. Then again its Nascar and EIRI is joked at for a very good
reason.

I'm telling you, NASCAR uses the rules from a TV SicFi program card game
to govern, Fizzbin.

On a road course yes they should unless there are large amounts of
standing water. Most of those guys though would be off course so much
that they would have to rename the series the National Association of
Agricultural Auto Racing.

The only gripe I would have if Jeff gets any benefit from running
those laps under yellow before the green falls. Leading a lap when no
one has had the chance to pass you yet shouldn't get you 5 points for
a title. Running around to help dry the track is one thing, but
giving credit to the pole winner for laps lead that count to the bonus
points of leading the most laps is as bogus and a yellow not coming
out immediately at Taladega when the huge smoke started.

Now if there has been green flag racing, then that's different. Other
drivers at least have had the opportunity to pass and put themselves
in that position.

Yi Yi Yi. I guess you should have read the thread. It had nothing to do
with the rain.
