The anthem by Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas was very good - one little
bad spot towards the end, but the rest of it was pretty good (given
that she had to embellish it - wish they wouldn't do that).

They have to "embellish it", so some extent, for a reason.
There is a 'spotter' standing off camera giving the singer a hand signal to
stretch it, in a effort to time the end of the anthem, with the flyover.

I always wondered how they timed that so perfectly. I thought it was using
holographic images of real planes that were actually in Iraq.

You have that backwards - the pilot adjusts his speed to an audio
feed. At least that's what I've heard.

They showed such an approach mentioning audio feed and speed match-up
on one of the special Nascar programs last year, or during one of the
pre-race segments. I have it on tape, but I have about a half dozen
altogether and don't remember which program it was. LOL.
