Over 4 hours to run 74 laps ain't hardly awesome. Nascar is run by idiots.

Well, people keep bitching and whining about why can't they run in the rain...
So they ran in the rain.
They run in the rain and you get a fucking joke.
NASCAR is trying to develope what a lot of people cry about.
Give them credit for that .
Even though it's stupid.

Awesome??? A demolition derby in slow motion is awesome to you? Now
you can see why the cup series doesn't run in the rain.

yeah my bad. In my haste I typed that during the first green flag lap when
the crowd was cheering, etc. little did I know those yokels couldn't make a
successful right OR LEFT hand turn in the rain. I agree, what a complete
joke.....

Sure wouldn't be the first time, deadman....

But it is my opinion.
NASCAR stock cars, as they are now,
don't need to be on road courses, or in the rain..
Yesterday's wet track episode, even without rain falling,
should be proof enough.
That was horrible.
40% of the race under yellow.... over 4 hours...
You can have all the wet road course racing you want...

I got a new Matco tool box for my wife.
Best trade I ever made...

not caused by rain, but by lousy drivers.
thr frogtown track provided the best roadcourse racing we have seen in a
while.

Whatever.

Most of these guys were very good oval stock car drivers.
I don't see the need to put them outside of their environment,
that's all. There is nothing to be gained, and more to be lost.

Stock car racing is full bodied, oval racing. (imo)
I don't see the need to make them something they aren't..

For those that like rain, there are other forms of motorsports.
they don't ALL have to have the same characteristics.
Let's put a chicane at the 500 foot mark at Pomona Dragway only,
for the Funny cars..
Let's put a jump out of the fourth turn at Eldora only, for the sprint cars.
Let's have one track race clockwise because they do in England.
Why deviate from the normal race concept, just for the sake of doing it?
Like I said, what's to be gained?

To each his own. Obviously you and others liked it.
So there is a market. How big, is to be determined.
I just don't care for it...
But imo, if that was the best road course race in a while,
it certainly shows why there shouldn't be any...

What was interesting about the race was the very high percentage
of drivers who had zero interest in points - between the Canadian
(and Canadien) drivers making one-off starts, and the guys like
Boris and Ambrose who only run 4 or 5 NNS races, it seemed like
half the field had no reason to do anything other than try to
win the race. That may have contributed to the yellows, the
guys with the nothing-to-loose attitude going into the turns.

NASCAR needs to figure out a way to bring that to the ovals...
more guys who only care about the win, less who are happy to
have a top-15 finish.

I've said that for years. Keep NASCAR on the ovals, if you
want stock cars on road courses the Rolex series, the ALMS
series, and the SCCA have plenty of choices.

But it's never been a popular view around here.
