Default BORING RACE - 07-26-2009 , 04:30 PM

Just JPM in front all day and follow the leader...with these tires it's as
boring as the cookie cutter tracks.

Don't blame it on the tires.
They have nothing to do with it.

Look at the track... the slightest edge in performance
magnifies so much with such long straights after just several laps.
Pocono.... don't expect a barn burner there either..
What a dog.

Whine all you want about the cookie cuters,
but they are a lot better than any 2+ miler, imo...
I'll go to Charlotte any day of the week.
But I'll turn down freebies to any of the big tracks every time.
Especially Indy or Pocono...

No matter how much you push the envelope,
it'll still be stationery

Pocono used to be a good race, back before the days of absurd aero
and cars with no suspension. Back when the drivers shifted, and
the guys with a little more skill with the gear lever could make
a difference.

Agreed, with the modification that it was a good track before they shifted,
as well. The three different turns used to separate the men from the boys.
Crummy track to watch live, because of the layout, but a good race all the
same.
