We _all_ jumped for joy when Mario Andretti lost his engine in front of us. That was the year that a car crashed entering turn 3 and a wheel got over the fence and beheaded a fan in the top row. We saw it happen and knew some one was hurt bad but did not find out till later that he was killed. The family did not sue. True race fans. I'm grateful I got to go when the cars were fast and different (CART), not this silly IRL show. However it someone gave me free transportation and tickets I would get on the plane tonight. |
