Default Bump drafting in the turns - 11-02-2009 , 06:37 AM

I thought King Helton sent a directive to the drivers several years
ago that said no bump drafting in the corners and NASCAR would be
having spotters watching for such things. This was 3-4 years past but
like everything else this bunch does it is mostly for show until
someone gets hurt or killed. I have stuck with NASCAR racing this
season but my interest has faded over the past few years and it is at
a point that I really dont care now. Bring on LeMans and 24 Hours of
Daytona and I can do without the taxi cab racing

They did, and bump drafting in the corners hasn't been happening.
As always happens, when something is banned the drivers find a
different way to go fast - in this case, instead of bumping the
secret has been to simply run with the trailing car constantly
touching the leading car. This in turn is what NASCAR has
(with typical short-sightedness) banned by requiring visible
space between the cars.
