Why are there flotation devices in the seats of planes instead of parachutes?

Which US race are you going to pull to give them one and how do you
think that's going to make the fans at that track feel?
Martinsville, worst sports facility I've ever been to.

Pocono - two races, two months apart, and a real snoozefest to boot.
I think the fans can tolerate that, especially since the two P races
aren't really pulling fans from NYC and other desirable target
markets.

Cayuga Speedway in 10 years or less.

About a year ago, the owners of Cayuga Speedway announced that they
were going to begin to plow the track under at the conclusion of the
labour Day CASCAR race last year. The plan was to replace the 5/8ths
mile track, said to have been modeled after North Wilksborough when it
was paved in 1968, with a 1 mile oval similar in shape to Rockingham.
Unfortunately, The cry of "NIMBY" (Not In MY Back Yard) has greeted
their plan and set them back! And the most vocal opponents are the
local Aboriginal First Nations! They are claiming that the land
belongs to them! Then there's all these phoney environmentalists
that have done everything to stop it, and naturally, the Ontario
Provincial government is listening to them. After all, this IS an
election year here in Ontario. Man when I heard about that plan, I
was looking for the line-up for tickets! There is still hope that
these guys are going to get the track built. The former CASCAR-now-
called-NASCAR Canada race is again on the Labour Day weekend, so I'll
find out then where everything stands! So lang as they don't do
something really dumb like call it "Toronto International Speedway"!
Any thing but "Toronto"! I, like most of Canada, hate that city!

How about that turn out for the Busch race today. You could also hear
the cheering in the broadcast. Cup will be going there next, you got
to believe.
F1 has just as big a crowd. What is sad is the stands in the last
American open wheel race there last year. You could see the bare
aluminum thanks to Tony George. ;-)

I certainly would like to see a Cup race in Canada, but not there!
That track is just too tight. If they have to race on a road course
in Canada, it should be at Mosport, about 60 miles east of Toronto.
That track is a lot like Watkins Glen. Besides, there's lots of
NASCAR fans like me who wouldn't set foot in "La Belle Province", but
then again, I guess I shouldn't let political differences interfere
with my love for NASCAR.

As for today's Busch race, there was waaaaayyyy too much emphasis on
Quebec's French culture. The race was being run by an American
organization for crying out loud!! Other than that, the race was
pretty screwed up at the end! I'm very disappointed in Robby Gordon,
and because of him, a bonehead won! That was Ambrose's race!- Hide quoted text -

I'm from Hagersville, the last I hear (in late July) was that they still
hope to have trucks in 5 years and Busch soon after with the ultimate
goal of Having Cup within 10 years. I know for fact Nascar officials
from NC have visited the track within the last 2-3 months... one can
hope, but I have doubts of ever seeing Cup there, but it's a nice goal
to work towards.
