You guys are not too bright if you got infected with this crap. First off,
if you use Windows you should be aware of this kind of stuff and some of
you are mentioning Adaware, etc so you are NOW aware of stuff like this.

Here is a tip, when surfing the web, you should log in as the "limited" user
account in Windows. Set one up and call it "web browser" and make sure you
don't give it admin rights. There is no way to write to the registry if
you are logged in as this limited account.

If you want to help the grass root effort of this stuff, do not support any
companies who make software which requires administrative rights to run on
your PC. Unfortunately this includes many games today, especially ones
that use PunkBuster. Companies like Intuit and Adobe have products which
require you to lower your shields to use the program, DOT NOT buy software
from them until they get their act together. Do not surf the web logged in
as admin. I use linux and Windows, I disagree with people who bash Windows
for things like this but it only takes a little knowledge to lock things
down for safe browsing. It is possible.

I actually took a chance to see what would happen on my linux box. It
popped up a bunch of stuff for me but NO permanent damage was done. I
killed the process and things returned to normal.

FYI, the tinyurl.com link is reported to be a site that attacks your
system with malware. I'd be very careful going to the sites listed.
Several posters in another ng reported lots of crap being written into
their registry and spoke of taking over an hour to get rid of it. At
least that which could be identified.

There has to be a way to decompile and recompile for Solaris. And how
fucking complicated could it be to make some good video cards? Wintel is
certainly better than those sissy Mac's; but barely. Time for SUN to take
over the computing world.
