Wondered about RCR's resurgence last year and the Hendrick lock this year? Per Mulhern at http://www.journalnow.com/servlet/Sa...=1037645509200 Jack Roush said he's just ordered the latest piece of high-dollar racing technology, a seven-post shaker rig, a computerized machine that a race car can be mounted on, which uses large hydraulic pistons to mimic the bumps and lumps of a 500-mile race. Richard Childress has had one for several years; Rick Hendrick just installed one himself, and Jeff Gordon said that exotic piece of equipment has been key to the team's dominance. "We've got a seven-post rig test machine now in our facility," Gordon said. "Last year was about getting it put in and then trying to figure out how to utilize the information that we get from it. Now it's really starting to pay off for us. "And if you look at Childress' success, I would say that is one of the main reasons they've stepped up so much over the last year, because they were one of the first teams to have one." |

I hope nascar sees the monster it has created. There will be three maybe four car owners that will win all of the races because they have the money for the technology. If and when people start to see this racing will not be as popular. |

Although the people that follow wrestling believe it is real so maybe not. I think a lot of the new fans are like the wrestling fans and will buy anything. |

Why would you say this would make racing less popular? The best teams are those who know how to build the best cars. What the sport needs is more room for those who are truly talented, to take advantage of that talent. |

The best teams that build the best cars are the ones that have the money to hire the best people and buy the technology to be the best. There may be people just a talented that will never see the success because they don't have the money to compete. Bottom line Four teams win all of the races and it gets too boring to watch. Wait and see if I am not right. |

Did you pick up on the comment during the last Inside Nextel Cup that Hendrick has 60 (did I hear right??...*60*!?) PHDs...not Bachelors, not Masters, but Docs! That along with the 560 employees and a 7-post shaker and the 'pull-down' machine that Sim mentioned (what-ever it is when it's at home), and the 20-some test sessions that Green ran (David, not Jeff), might...just *might* have contributed to where Hendrick teams are these days on the CoT. |

After Sundays race Chad Knaus said the reason they are winning with the CoT is because they have a lot more resources than any other team. That is right from the horses mouth. |

That is right from the horses mouth. While they did win the race at Richmond, other circumstances could have contributed as well. Obviously you can never say 'matter of factly'.. They didn't have anything over Kurt Busch, or Kevin Harvick, other than better luck. Two different teams. |
