lose the star, lose the big sponsor. that's it for them. it will become
strictly a memorabilia company.

I don't think DEI will fold, they still have the marketing rights to Senior's
name so they will continue to make a fortune off of that for years to come.
But I think you are right in that they will become irrelevant to the racing
scene and pretty much morph into a 'collectables' company. I doubt they will
be able to attract any good drivers in the future. Who would want to race for
Teresa, who knows nothing about the sport, and her hired COO who knows even
less about it than her? Here's to the #3 red Budweiser car.

They could sell the car numbers to Toyota, but the team is done, and
nobody wants to work for a rich formerly-hot track-lizard second wife.

No name driver, no sponsor, no real reason for the team to exist.

Sell the whole thing now, while it still has value. DEI becomes a
decreasing asset in 2008.

Just for the record, it's "pit lizard" and she wasn't one, her dad and
her uncle were racers (Uncle Tommy Houston drove Busch and dad Hal
Houston raced sportsman at Hickory). AND, she was his 3rd wife.
Kerry's mom was first, Dale and Kelley's mom was #2, Teresa was #3.
Ironic, huh?

If you're going to slam on someone, at least do it with facts.

Actually, Menard is a pretty big name in the midwest as I hear it. And
Martin is a good driver, as is his cousin Curtis who currently drives
a late model for JR Motorsports. And as much as the people here want
to deny it since Junior also won 2, but winning 2 NBS Cups isn't an
easy task, yet Martin Truex did it.

Facts, on RASN? Why, you can't expect that.

Menard is a big home improvement/hardware store, ala Home Depot/Lowes, based
out of Michigan (I believe). I seem to recall reading somewhere that John
Menard (the founder) has more money than God; I mean Roger Penske.

And if he's really not interested in running the #3 at this point, Hendrick
can always boot Mears out of the 25....a Bud 25 should have some nostalgia
value of it's own.
