In reference to the post on qualifying for the Bud Shootout, how did Denny
Hamlin qualify for this race? I must have missed that piece of imformation.

Thanks. I was trying to figure out whether the car got him in.

Only the driver qualifies for the Shootout. Gotta win a pole or be a past
winner of the Shootout to get in.

ANDddddd....carry a Bud decal during your Pole winning Q run....which is why

Petty cars do not run the shootout even on the rare occasions that they do
win a pole.
