Default double file start, shootout style - 06-07-2009 , 05:34 PM

Are we gonna be hearing this 15 times a race for the next 6 weeks?

No, hopefully they will end this abomination and revert back to the
real format.

Are you kidding? This is much better than single file restarts!

Oh no, you've drank the koolaid! Quick, induce vomiting then drink
lots of water.

A few years ago, they may have thought about dumping it, but I don't
think JG pulls as much weight with his comments as he used to. (Wasn't
a remark he made about back of the packers getting in on provisionals
clogging up short tracks one of the reasons they came up with the Top
35 rule?)

Think of it this way. You are not hearing about Digger! Nothing was or is as
bad as hearing about that rodent. Even hearing Wally for 2 or 3 hours is
better than Digger.

Besides what is wrong with the best up front. Let the ones not doing well go
to the back until they sort things out.

I got no problem with the restart, just don't need to be reminded of
it every time.

Well, they do have to get the rule clarifications out. For example, I
wasn't aware that if a lapped car was between the leader and the
second-place car when the yellow came out, the lapped car was moved
back to the first spot behind the cars on the lead lap (I thought only
the cars "waved ahead" were moved out of place).

Still, expect it to be mentioned pretty much every time there's a
restart with 20 or fewer laps to go.

I'm damned glad Tony put it to good use and won!

Hellova race, improved greatly by the new restart system.

Even got to see some interesting timing of late pit stops that seemed
to grow out of the new starting process.

Thank you NASCAR!

Weber never knows when to shut the F up - how many times did he say
it?

Also, "Tony was on the pole but had to start at the back." Like, 49
times. What a maroon; let's be glad he's only got 6 races....

(Ping - Earl - did you count how many times Webber said
"championship?" It's even beginning to annoy me. He constantly says,
"Last week's champion," instead of "Last week's winner." He announces
"XX is leading in the championship standings, instead of "...leading
in points." AAARRGGHHHH!)

OTOH - anyone catch "Iron Chef America?" Secret ingredient:
octopus. One of the guest diners/judges: Jamie Little (labeled as
"Nascar reporter," which she is). Groovy ... who knew she was a
sometime gourmand? ;-)
