Bill Elliott may have been able to win that one if he had 5 or 10 more laps,
but that's the way it goes. He should have been more personable in the post
race interview. Ending it with "whatever" doesn't look good for him or the
sponsor.

Surprise Surprize....A driver being upset
after a race that he shudda won. First
time it ever happened. On the other hand
BE is seasoned pro - been there for a long
time. This aint no bar room this aint no
disco this is pro stock car racing...movin
on...

I don't think anyone screwed him out of the win. It was just racing,
and he
had nothing to be angry about. Too bad.

I love to see a little emotion after a race if the situation warrants
it, but
this one just looked like sour grapes to me.

Bullshit. If you liked emotion after a race then you
would understand this.

Bingo!

There wasn't a question... The interviewer said 'Move out of the way unless
you want Ryan to run you over'... and Bill's reply was.. 'Whatever'...

Considering how hard that guy worked, and how he *SHOULD* have won that
race.. I can't blame him for feeling a bit frustrated, and upon hearing that
Ryan might run him over, just saying 'Whatever'..

Not a big deal to me. It's emotion like this that makes the end of race
interviews interesting. Nothing is more boring that hearing every single
person thank their sponsor and crew, and talk about how they had a pretty
good car, and how this was a decent finish for the team... blah blah blah...
At least THIS shows more humanistic qualities.. which I tend to like.

Bill was caught up in the moment...... I think he wanted that win very
bad....... The man is ending his career and I think he wanted a
win..... As far as the whatever comment, I don't think Bill heard the
question...... I think he was upset that Mike Skinner cost him and
Mayfield a second on the restart...... But that's racin'......

Get them next Bill...... He showed he can still drive the damn
car!!!!!!!

Later, GP

I'm glad someone was paying attention :-)

Indeed, he just drove his ass off and it just shows he's still driven to
win.

No, I said I like emotion if the situation warrants it. His situation didn't
warrant it. No one bumped him out of contention. He had time to win if his
car were much faster than Newman's. It wasn't quite fast enough. Too bad.
Face the music. Don't pout about it.

Not to mention that the drivers who finish in the top three are required to go
to the post-race interview by NASCAR, and he refused. There'll be a fine
there.

I agree, that was kind of a snotty comment to make, especially for Bill.

Hey you can't expect everyone to have the cheery professional response that
Tony Stewart had can you?

Exactly. BE is acting like TS and it doesn't look good on him. Makes him
look like a spoiled brat.
