Bill Elliott may have been able to win that one if he had 5 or 10
more laps, but that's the way it goes. He should have been more
personable in the post race interview. Ending it with "whatever"
doesn't look good for him or the sponsors.
For one - Screw the sponsors! The damned sponsors are getting way too much
consideration these days. However - how does Bill's curt response have
anything at all to do with his sponsors? Are you going to stop buying their
products now?

Quote:
I don't think anyone screwed him out of the win. It was just racing,
and he had nothing to be angry about. Too bad.
Clueless. Have you ever competed at anything?

Quote:
I love to see a little emotion after a race if the situation warrants
it, but this one just looked like sour grapes to me.
And you define *if* the situation warrants it?

Surprise Surprize....A driver being upset
after a race that he shudda won. First
time it ever happened. On the other hand
BE is seasoned pro - been there for a long
time. This aint no bar room this aint no
disco this is pro stock car racing...movin
on...

You're also probably not sure what those little ponds
in the tiny rooms that rich folk have are for . . .

Face the music. Don't pout about it.

Stupid, don't you realize that it wasn't even a question?

Not to mention that the drivers who finish in the top three are required to go
to the post-race interview by NASCAR, and he refused. There'll be a fine
there.

How much do you plan to fine him, oh great god of NASCAR?

Did anyone notice that the (NBC) cameraman was shoved out of the way
while Matt Kenseth's car was being pushed to the garage ?
I thought it was neat and funny, because the media want's to get into
everybody's faces.
Matt's crew did a fantastisc job getting him back within 45 minutes
and running same lap times as the leaders.
AS BP stated today that even tho he won only 1 race when he got his
Championship, it was due to being consistant.
I don't blame Bill Elliott. "Awsome Bill from from Dawsonville"

There is emotion and there is being an asshole. Bill was acting an ass

going now?"

Better than the interview that 99% of the drivers give after the race which
may as well have been pre-recorded before.

Hmmm......maybe it's because they are paying for those fast cars that those
guys drive........ You know that without sponsors there'd be no racing, right?

Quote:

Ever hear of PR? That's why the sponsors pay the big bucks for these guys to
race--so they get their label on TV, and they don't like their label to be
associated with jerk-like behavior.

Quote:
Clueless. Have you ever competed at anything?
Sure, and when I lost I didn't act like a two-year-old.....except when I was
two.

And you define *if* the situation warrants it?
Here's an example: If Newman had done a bump-and-run to win.

Another? If someone hit him on pit road and ruined his car.

Another? If a Bodine lost it on his inside and put him into the wall.

Another? If Dale Jr. was blocking him for 10 laps and Waltrip won.

Another? If no one hit you, but you still couldn't make it past the leader
even though you had 15 laps to do it? No way. No harm no foul. Just racin'.

Bill has always had class before. Don't know what happened here.
