I agree, that was kind of a snotty comment to make, especially for Bill.
Yes, any driver worth a shit would have stopped turned to the camera with
his best side showing, holding a 16oz Coke with the label perfectly facing
the camera and after talking a make believe drink smiled and said I love to
have the fastest car and finish 2nd. I bet Bill didn't want to talk at all
but obviously they were clinging on to his leg like a humping dog all so
they could ask some dumbass question.

Whatever! ;-)

Default Elliott too short in post-race interview. - 10-05-2003 , 04:53 PM

Bill Elliott may have been able to win that one if he had 5 or 10 more laps,
but that's the way it goes. He should have been more personable in the post
race interview. Ending it with "whatever" doesn't look good for him or the
sponsors.

I don't think anyone screwed him out of the win. It was just racing, and he
had nothing to be angry about. Too bad.

I love to see a little emotion after a race if the situation warrants it, but
this one just looked like sour grapes to me.

I was surprise to see a veteran like Elliot say valley girl type comment
"whatever".
I lose respect for him today.

Bullshit. If you liked emotion after a race then you
would understand this.

today!

He's never been one for the sensationalist coverage the networks put out
lately. Didn't he leave the track within five minutes of the last Loudon
race? He just has a low setting on his bullshitometer. He's earned it.

Bill was caught up in the moment...... I think he wanted that win very
bad....... The man is ending his career and I think he wanted a
win..... As far as the whatever comment, I don't think Bill heard the
question...... I think he was upset that Mike Skinner cost him and
Mayfield a second on the restart...... But that's racin'......

Get them next Bill...... He showed he can still drive the damn
car!!!!!!!

Later, GP

So you would rather he was a dirty driver, but gave Stepford
interviews like Jeffy.
