DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Continuing the sport's "back to basics" approach, NASCAR and its television broadcast partners have announced earlier, uniform start times in 2010 for the Sprint Cup Series races. NASCAR worked closely with FOX, Turner, ESPN/ABC and the tracks on this project for the fans. The race start times for Cup Series races in 2010 in the eastern and central regions will begin at 1 p.m. ET, west coast events will begin at 3 p.m., and night races will begin at 7:30 p.m. (The one exception is NASCAR's longest night race, the Coca- Cola 600, which will have the same 5:45 p.m. start time.) Following the invocation and national anthem, the green flag will drop at approximately 15 to 20 minutes past the hour after each stated race event start time. http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headlines/official/10/07/standard.start.times/index.html |

Ahhh if that were the ONLY THANG WRONG with the whole deal ..sigh MAYBE we can figure out a way to send notes to the announcers ..with Bogus Start times. =========== Hey Earl, I think there's more to it than just the talking heads on TeeVee. The way they shoot the race is awful. They spend enormous amounts of time showing only one car on the screen. It used to be that they would focus on a group of two or more cars, even if they weren't all bunched up. Now it seems that they have to show a single car at a time so that we can read all the sponsor logos. We don't get to see racing anymore. We get to watch one car at a time.driving around. Come on, it's not that bad. I love the split screen for the 2 best races |

Umm, you do know that Earl doesn't actually _watch_ the race, right? He just listens to the sound. |
