Nope. The shoot out is a "stand alone" event, comprised of last year's pole
winners. Time Trials set up the Gatorades, with the two fastest cars
guaranteed to start on the front row. The rest start based on how they
finish their respective Gatorade. Oops, I should have read down further.

Bingo. It is impossible to use the Clash...errr...Shootout to set the
Gatorade lineups since only previous winners of the race and last year's
pole winners are invited to the Shootout. That would make for some small
150s and a very small Daytona 500... ;-)

Why did they want to kill the (admittedly slang) term "The Twins"? Worried
about some possible redneck sexual connotation? Puh-Lease! I still call it
