Default Going to Loudon NH in September - 08-08-2007 , 07:37 AM

Hi to all,

A group of five friends are going to Loudon NH Nascar Nextel Race this
September and are looking for some informtion. We are driving from Canada
for Sunday only.

What time should we plan to arrive at the track? Traffic? Food at the track?
ETC...

Thank you in advance for all the information.

P.S: Our group attends Pocono in July, trying something new this year.
Already bought the tickets.

Bob

Loudon is quite like Pocono in the roads that surround the track. I travel
to the track from the south and the traffic can get quite heavy as you
approach the green flag. Route 106 will turn into a 4 lane road. 3 inbound
and 1 outbound. This section can and most times does turn into a slow
bumper to bumper traffic. This in turn will back up on to 395 and even
backup on to route 93.

aim to arrive in the 8 to 9 AM time frame. You will miss a great deal of
the traffic and save that grief. be ready to walk. I bring my RV up to the
track just about a week before the race and I have a 1 to 1 1/4 mile walk to
get to the track. many people will use wagons to carry every thing to the
track. also bring a lock and chain to lock the wagon to the fence.

as for food, the standards are found all over the track.

Pizza, burgers, fries, ice cream, lemonade, soda, water can be found
although pricy. The track does have some Bank of America ATM's at the
track. One by the first aid station near turn one and most of the time Bank
of America will bring in a ATM van that has in the past is parked near the
main gate and the main office.

the traffic leaving the track is even worse. the road that runs through the
campground will not move much until 2 or 3 hours after the race ends. I
suggest that you park in the lots that are closer to Rt. 106 they empty
first. You may want to have a tail gate BBQ before or after or even both to
miss the bulk of the traffic....

New England's weather can be strange be ready for chilly, hot, and possibly
wet. keep an eye on the weather reports some times the weather can change
quickly. Thursday's forcast for Sunday may not match what happens on
Sunday...

Hope you enjoy the start of the chase.

This post is too funny in it's timing of me getting questioned why
Canadians deserve a Cup race.
Both Nancy-take one race from Poco, & me-take one race from NH
are brought up in a Canuck discussion.
CRUjustified once again in RASN.
