How about that ALL Usenet groups die....and it's not due to trolling or
'newbies' or whatever bunches your panties up, its due to the fact that
sooner or later, everything's been covered. All the names change but the
story stays the same. In the end all that's left is verbal abusiveness,
trolling, and a few old diehards trying to hang on to what was once pretty
cool. When you try to police the anarchy you just come off like a crazy
street-preacher.

If you and your buddies want to meet here and talk about racecars...great.
If you've got any great insight, I'm all ears man. If you don't like a
troll, killfile him. If you're bothered by someone that <God forbid>
responds, killfile them, too.

Its a public place, deal with it. If that's still not cool, download some

I ran a BBS for a while. Six or so years. It's not all it's cracked up to
be. People always whining for more download credits, backing off warez to
tape almost every weekend, couriers bitching about not enough phone lines,
etc. It's just a different set of headaches. And then of course there was
Operation Sundevil trying to find all of us and take us down for piracy,
and the usual ongoing anti-piracy investigations. I have run Renegade,
Telegard, MajorBBS, and Sapphire. None was great software.
