Default Great Nationwide Race - 07-26-2009 , 02:58 AM

Now *that* was a great race at ORP tonight. I know the drivers don't
like them but the double file restarts really do make the race more
exciting in my opinion. I can't believe no one wrecked during the last
15-20 laps or so. It seemed as if someone was contending for almost
every position.

I agree. Super race.
I enjoy them every bit as much as the cup races now.

Actually they do..
It gives you a much better chance to race the leaders.
The ones that aren't crazy about it, like Jeff Burton, for instance,
is because they have had poor luck with them so far.
When you wreck on a restart, I guess you can blame it on the double,
but if you start in the 5th row, instead of the 10th row,
and finish in the top 3 with 10 to go,
you will love them....

I don't think the double file restarts had anything to do with
that being a great race. When you get a good track with two or
more grooves like IRP, then you get side-by-side racing, and if
they'd started single file the only difference would have been
that they wouldn't have been side-by-side until they reached
turn 3 on a restart, instead of turn 1.

Let's move both Fontana Cup dates to IRP.
