Here I was hoping JJ would run out of gas so Jeff could win, and he runs out himself and JJ wins. Typical second half of the year. At this rate he'll be lucky if he finishes above Hideo Fukuyama in the standings. like JG. Tony has pretty much stunk all year, but has generally moved up in
the points from early on in the season.

He was/is defending champ, that's all, not first place. Tony is still
defending champion and still number 1, according to your logic, until
Kenseth clinches.
Same as any other sport...
