I agree, it sucked. I wish I had drug a book in there with me. The flight
out Friday sucked, the flight in last night was a tad better. I TIVO'd it
but doubt that I will watch it. The only thing really nice I can say about
seeing my first live event at that track is 'Nice facilities'.

I think it was better when you could take your own coolers full of
beer/soda/food and had to pee in a porta Jon. IF 'Nice facilities' are what
NASCAR is coming down to, then it is in worse trouble than anyone could have
ever imagined. I mean a nice place for the fans to go isn't going to mean
squat when the fans figure out that the actual racing there sucks. Ditto
goes to the venues at Fontana and LV. Flat, boring, aero-push, fuel mileage
BS that doesn't equal racing in my book.

Best part of my trip, grubbing at the Cheesecake Factory in downtown KC.
Word is Raleigh has one going up, and not a minute too soon for me. Some
good eats at that place. Oh, and the Mrs loved the FAO Schwartz (sp?) toy
store. All in all a decent trip to KC from NC. I got to see a great race
'facility', enjoy some riverboat gambling, ate well and landed a pretty
large account for the next 5 years (hehe, I smell a new boat in my future)
oh AND I got to try to keep myself awake during the NASCAR race while out
there too. Come to think of it, I may watch the TIVO of Trackside, Mike
and the fellas normally put on a good show and I heard they had MK on there
this week...

Well I didn't watch the race either, but I can't say that I didn't care. I
had my long time beloved Red Sox on in a DO or DIE situation in game four of
the playoffs and I had to watch them.

In my life it goes by what I've been a fan of the longest and then what is
more important to that sport for that team/person:

Red Sox
Patriots
Lakers
Nascar/Earnhardts/D Waltrip/M Waltrip/ E Ervin/D Allison (too many good ones
have died)
F1/M. Schumi, before him Mansell, before him J. Stewart
Indy Racing/Andretti's Mario/Michael (now it all sucks)
B. Bruins (some day they will be sold and I can watch them again)

I had heard it was going to be in the newly renovated Crabtree Valley Mall.
I didn't know it had opened up for bidness as of yet. Looks like I may need
to make a run on up to the 'big' city for dinner one evening this week.
Since the wife retired from work, I don't stray up yonder exceptin to buy
computer parts or software from the local Best Buy it seems anymore.

I highly recommend it, the food is pretty good to be 'restaurant' food. And
yes, they also have cheesecake.

Damn, I love Kubrick.

Me two. "Full Metal Jacket" is still my favorite. Followed closely by
2001. And "Dr. Strangelove".
"What is your major malfunction, Private Pyle?!"

I love that guy's show on the History Channel. "Mail Call"

Not Kubrick, but have you seen "Irreversible"?
