Wouldn't it be funny if France did a 180 on
the championship formula. If he did, he'd be
NASCAR's Brent Farve, a guy who can't make
up his mind.

They certainly cannot do away with The Chase because they have a contract
with The Sprint.

One of the many things that makes The Chase a terrible thing is that the
other 31 cars in the last ten races have to work just as hard, spend just as
much money, and take just as much risk without any chance of recognition or
rewards.

In the other pro sports the teams that did not make the playoffs simply go
home and go about their business.

About 99% of the people in NASCAR and the fans have got to hate this The
Chase business. It is just so wrong for so many reasons.

If it really accomplished something, in the sporting sense or the fan
appreciation sense, that would be different. All is does is make a mockery
of the efforts of the other 31 teams over the last ten races and irritate
the fans.

I try to look on the positive side and imagine what The Chase format of
scoring does that is good. Up to this point I have nothing and it has been
a few years.

You mean besides being a winner of a race?
Somehow, Dale Junior or Kyle Busch or Matt Kenseth
don't want to win a race after the chase starts?

Besides making your sponsors happy, or having your crew
andfamily celebrate in Victory lane?

Or building momentum?
Confidence?

They already have a separate point system. What do you think
resetting points at the beginning of the Chase is?

The key word there is "IF". At least we have an 'if', or iow, a championship
still to be determined, as there are probably still 5 drivers or so who
could conceivably win. On the flip side, with no chase format, the "IF"
wouldn't exist ............... Tony would already be the 2009 champion.
Given that, I can't see NASCAR dropping their play-offs for the last 10
races.

You are once again 'of opinion' ........... but lacking in rationale.
